Bootstrapping Bronto

Bootstrapping Bronto

by Joe Colopy

About This Book

Bootstrapping Bronto describes the bootstrapping journey of Bronto Software, a marketing software company, from its founding in 2002 to its acquisition by NetSuite in 2015. Author Joe Colopy, the co-founder of Bronto, uses his experience to advocate for the bootstrapping model over venture capital. He argues bootstrapping allows entrepreneurs to maintain control, prioritize customer focus, and foster a strong company culture. Colopy then presents his framework for bootstrap success, emphasizing the importance of hustle, listening to customers, flexibility, extending the runway, and persistence. He explains how these principles guided his company’s growth, ultimately leading to its successful acquisition.
